Webpages of the Day
Hey, bit too tired at the mo (after a stressful week) to update for myself, but here are a few sites worth a look on 23 Septemeber 2005
- The Institute for War and Peace Reporting has a look into the removal of Kyrgyz Prosecutor Azimbek Beknazarov. A setback for democracy?
- The Eurasia Daily Monitor asks some questions of Viktor Yushchenko after his former Presidential rival gives him a political boost. The Kiev Ukraine News Blog also has a round up of some strong worded newspaper articles relating to the issue.
- Registan raises an issue I was unaware of. Appears that the Kazakh President's daughter is openly crossing him for the first time, regarding China’s new oil acquisition, PetroKazakhstan
- And finally........a new blog I just noticed 'Freedom for Egyptians'. Definitely worth a look!
Happy reading and enjoy the start to your weekend!

She has done stuff in the past that would seem to be against her father's interests. And it's often been speculated that when she does something like this on her own, she's floating a trial balloon for the presidency.

I suppose it at least creates a mirage of democracy, but if the President was against this takeover in the first place, why did he not think more carefully before allowing it?
